Minh Chjiat Isabelle Wong

Chemistry,
SMK Tasek Utara

Cikgu Isabelle has always believed in pushing the boundaries of what students can achieve. Together with her students, she created a chemistry learning app that has reached over 200,000 users worldwide, and her team went on to win gold at the World Robotics Olympiad. For over a decade, she has worked with some of Malaysia’s brightest young minds, with students from supportive families and well-resourced schools. Yet this experience revealed to her an undeniable truth: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Today, Cikgu Isabelle is pioneering the Empower STEM Education Centre, a hybrid innovation space for underserved youth. The centre, which she has already secured a venue for, will house robotics training, eco-STEM projects and soft-skills workshops run by volunteer alumni and industry partners will lead programmes, ensuring that students not only master technical knowledge but also develop the confidence and skills to thrive in the future.
