Dr. Shyielathy serves as an academic lecturer at the Graduate Studies Department, Institute of Teacher Education, Ipoh Campus, Perak, Malaysia. With 16 years of experience as a special education teacher in four national schools across Malaysia, she has a deep understanding of the field of special education.She was awarded a Doctoral Degree in Early Childhood Education (Special Education) from Sultan Idris Education University in 2020. She has been actively involved in advocating for children’s educational rights, particularly for those with special needs, and strongly supports inclusive education.In this capacity, she also serves as an advisor for the National Family Support Group for Children and Individuals with Special Needs in Malaysia. One of her significant contributions to the field is the development of a screening instrument called SYMBEST, a research study in collaboration with the National Child Development Research Centre at Sultan Idris Education University.
