Ahmad Firdauz bin Abdullah Tahrin is the Head of Program at Permata Kurnia Early Intervention Center of Excellence. He is a former Kokurikulum GPK at SK Sungai Danga, Johor Bahru and a former head teacher at SK Pekan Nanas, Pontian (Trust School). These two schools are very unique due to the diversity of student backgrounds and are schools in the middle of the city of Johor Bahru with 40% of the students being Asli Seletar students. The involvement of parents and the community has become the school’s main challenge. However, Firdauz has highlighted the principle that the school moves with the community and stakeholders and there is no term ‘I’ but ‘we’ to ensure the school’s goals are achieved. As a result of these efforts, his school has managed to get the best UPSR achievement in 2019. He also firmly adheres to the work culture of ‘moving forward, moving together’ to produce more young leaders among teachers.
