Cikgu Shahril Othman is one of the Top 5 Finalists of the Malaysia Teacher Prize. He is a mathematics teacher and the principal of SK Samudera, Perak. He managed to attract his students to learn mathematics with multiple learning innovations created by him. One of his earliest learning innovations included the 123 Box, which helped the students master the unit conversion method, which is one of the issues at his school. This method successfully crowned Cikgu Shahril Johan Inovasi Negeri Pahang and Johan Kebangsaan in 2010. Since then, Cikgu Shahril has developed a few other innovations and shared them with all the students and his fellow teachers through a Mathematic workshop held across the country. According to Cikgu Shahril, this success has implemented effective learning and teaching methods that could influence and guide teachers and students to increase their curriculum achievements. Cikgu Shahril hopes that his success as one of the Top 5 Finalists of the Malaysia Teacher Prize could inspire school leaders and teachers across the country order to increase the instructional qualities towards better academic achievements for the students.
