Applying to the Malaysia Teacher Prize
All applicants should meet the following criteria to be considered for the Malaysia Teacher Prize:
In-service teachers
The Malaysian Teacher Prize is open to currently working teachers in Malaysia who teach students that are in compulsory schooling* who are between the ages of five and eighteen.
*Compulsory schooling include public schools, private schools, and schools run by non-profit organizations that abide by the Malaysian national syllabus.
Teaching experience
The Prize is open to teachers with at least 5 years of teaching experience in any kind of school from any state in Malaysia.
Malaysian teachers
Candidates must be of Malaysian citizenship.
Teaching hours
Candidates must teach at least 10 hours a week** and must plan to remain in the teaching profession for the next 5 years.
** If a teacher teaches less than 10 hours a week, they are still encouraged to apply and will be asked to explain their role in school further within their application. Teachers who hold leadership and special positions in schools are encouraged to apply.
Application limit
A candidate will only be allowed to send in one application for the Malaysia Teacher Prize.
In any case of contestation regarding eligibility, PEMIMPIN GSL’s decision is final.

Recommending A Teacher for the
Malaysia Teacher Prize
To recommend a teacher,
please submit basic details of the teacher.
There is no limit to the number of recommendations.
